iTunes video rentals could be huge

Apple is finally going to offer digital movie rentals from its iTunes store, the FT reports. The company has hooked up with News Corp's Twentieth Century Fox to allow short-term rental downloads of Fox DVDs. Apple hasn't officially confirmed the news or said anything about potential pricing, which is rumored to be about $3 per rental.

Apple sells movies for download, but to this point hasn't made anything available to rent. So far, the downloadable rental business has been pretty abysmal, with rivals like Movielink and CinemaNow unable to turn big numbers. But the opportunities are there, and Amazon and others have been working hard to come up with a groundbreaking rental service.

Enter Apple and it's not-so-secret weapon: the iPod (and now the iPhone). I'm assuming Apple will make it easy to shoot movies from your computer to your iPod. If that's the case -- and if Apple shines its marketing megaspotlight on the feature -- iTunes rentals could be huge. The next step might be enabling the downloading directly to an iPod over WiFi, but that could take hours.


And here's an interesting feature: New Fox DVDs will come with a special digital file allowing the films to be ripped to a computer or iPod. It hasn't been easy to do this before.

This is a big win for Apple and Fox, and I suspect other movie studios are close to signing deals or are watching closely to see how this all plays out.

Apple shares are up slightly on the news. Here's what others are saying today:

Wall Street Journal: "Apple has for months been trying to persuade the Hollywood studios to agree to a digital rental model, in which consumers would be able to download movies through iTunes that could be played for a limited time. Until now, no studio has agreed to such a deal with Apple, and some companies have continued to resist Apple's pitch."

Silicon Alley Insider: "Why hasn't anyone really caught up with Apple in the music download market? One reason: Because until Amazon debuted its MP3 store this fall, no store sold popular music that worked on iPods or Mac computers. Similarly, most non-iTunes movie download services don't work on Macs or iPods. And a two-hour download beats a two-day wait for a DVD in the mail."

Mashable: "Assuming that Sony, Paramount and Warner Brothers follow suit, as they are also rumored to do, many folks may quit Blockbuster and Netflix subscriptions for the economy and convenience of an AppleTV unit, especially if rentals are $2.99 for 30 days."

The government tabled a constitution amendment bill

The government tabled a constitution amendment bill at the parliament today, seeking to overcome constitutional hurdles to declare Nepal a federal democratic republic and hold an election to the 601-member Constituent Assembly by mid-April.
Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Narendra Bikram Nemwang presented the “Nepal’s Interim Constitution (3rd amendment) Bill 2007” for discussion, expressing the government’s commitment to hold the CA polls by mid-April.
The government has sought amendment in Article 159, to replace “Provisions regarding the King” by “Provisions of the Head of the State.”
The bill is likely to be passed by the House when the interim parliament sits on Friday after clause-wise discussion, party leaders said. When approved by the House, Nepal will be a republic, to be implemented by the first meet of the CA.
But a two-third majority of the existing members of the interim House can declare a republic even earlier if the King creates obstacles in holding the CA polls, according to the 23-point pact reached among the seven-party alliance yesterday.
The government seeks to amend Article 33 (A) of the interim statute. The Article specifies that the “State will focus all its attention to conduct free and impartial election for the members of the CA within December 15.” The amendment proposes to replace “December 15” with “mid-April 2008” in the interim constitution as the deadline for the CA polls.
The amendment has added “two hundred and forty” to replace the “two hundred and five” in the first-past-the-post system.
It has added “three hundred and thirty five” to be elected under the proportional electoral system in clause (b) of Article 63. In clause (c) of Article 63, the amendment has suggested “26 members” to be nominated by the cabinet.
Earlier, RJP chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa during the special House session today criticised the SPA for increasing the CA strength to 601. RPP chairman and MP Pashupati SJB Rana said the statute amendment to declare the nation a “federal democratic republic” is against the people’s wish.
NSP’s Rajendra Mahato termed the coalition government a “criminal” government. UML’s Bharat Mohan Adhikari said the government should abide by the 23-point pact signed yesterday.
NC MP Dr Prakash Saran Mahat said polls should not be put off again.
Maoist MP Dev Gurung expressed concern about the increased CA strength, saying such a huge number of CA members is burdensome for Nepal.

A Love Affair or Just Friends?

Here are a few observations of the "just friends" emotional affair:

1. This person often struggles knowing where to draw the line. S/he often throws him/herself into something 100%. Other aspects of his/her life may suffer or be ignored. There often is a lack of personal balance between family, work, self care.

1. This person usually has a need for drama and excitement. Life easily becomes a soap opera. Emotional juice from the fall-out of emotionally intense relationships reigns rather than living life from the core of who one is.

2. The person “looking for love” is actually looking for the ideal, someone out there, who will project back to him/her that he/she is OK. No, more than OK, close to perfect.

3. This person needs to be adored, or think another adores him/her, because there is a lack of inner strength and solid identity. The other becomes my world, because I lack a world. Being “in love” is the panacea for my emptiness.

4. This type of affair often occurs when there is a “lull” in the marriage relationship. The responsibility of raising children, starting and maintaining a career, paying bills, etc. become the focal point for the couple. Romance becomes a foreign word.

There are many many subtle differences in affairs. Emotional affairs are only one kind. Once you begin to see and understand the differences, a new sense of empowerment overtakes you embark on a more confident path of resolution.

Here is another tip: make it easy by bringing a bottle of water with you wherever you go.

6. BYOF: That is bring your own food! Do not put your health in other peoples hands...they do not feel the pain when your jeans do not fit! Taking care of yourself takes some planning. Is the party you will be attending only going to have greasy and starchy finger foods? (You can call ahead and ask the host what she/he will be serving--mention that you have some special dietary needs.) To be safe, bring a veggie platter with low-fat dip! Also, studies have shown that when people eat a diet food they feel like they can get away with eating more and end up overeating!

When we overeat we feel bad, heavy, and lethargic. And we are still tired! Work on going to bed earlier. Late night nibbling is easier when it is late and we should be in bed. Take care of yourself by retiring to bed with a book, and then turn the lights out before your tummy starts to growl. Even if it is growling, go to bed, you will not hear it when you are asleep and it feels sooo good to wake up in the morning with a clear conscience!

2. Vitamins: So many times our overeating is caused by nutritional deficiencies. We seek the vitamins and minerals our bodies crave in excess food. Unfortunately, this is a vicious cycle because usually the food we overeat is devoid of any real nutrition, so it leaves us further depleted. As a first step, begin taking a good multivitamin, preferably one made from whole food. (If you go to a health food store, they will offer whole food supplements, not just synthetic ones.) Next, strive to eat organic foods whose soil is not stripped of vital minerals like the soil of chemical-sprayed fruits and vegetables. Eating organic will make you feel better, and feel better about yourself. Because you are making an effort to be good to your body. Lastly, stick with foods that have as little processing as possible. For example, cook a free-range turkey instead of eating cold-cuts. The more whole and natural, the more nutritionally sound.

3. Bring lunch: It is easy to order take-out with your other bored co-workers, but that only makes weight loss harder. Be deliberate about taking care of yourself. Think ahead and shop for foods that you can use to make a healthy salad for yourself. Buy some colorful Tupperware for your packed lunches. Put some care into making a fruit salad for yourself with various yummy fruits. You will be amazed how good about yourself you will feel and how good for you it is to bring your own lunch to work and avoid the greasy, starchy alternatives your coworkers are devouring.

4. Do not skip meals: Skipping meals is a trap! We always end up making up for the meals we skipped and then some! Make a point to eat three meals a day, and do not nibble in between. Would you skip feeding your children? Of course not. Then why do we think it is OK to skip our own meals? If you make a point to feed yourself on a schedule of three meals a day, you will be more balanced emotionally and you will actually build self-esteem. Both these things lead to a thinner weight and a better quality of life.

5. Stay Hydrated: Yes, I know you know that 8 glasses of water a day is good for weight loss and health in general. True health experts will actually recommend that you drink more than this. The fact is that when we are dehydrated, we eat more. This is because it is easy to disguise thirst for hunger. We eat, looking to hydrate ourselves, when drinking a few glasses of water would easily quiet those hunger pangs. So next time you are SURE that you need to eat more, try a tall glass of water and wait 10 minutes. That may be all you need. Here is another tip: make it easy by bringing a bottle of water with you wherever you go.

6. BYOF: That is bring your own food! Do not put your health in other peoples hands...they do not feel the pain when your jeans do not fit! Taking care of yourself takes some planning. Is the party you will be attending only going to have greasy and starchy finger foods? (You can call ahead and ask the host what she/he will be serving--mention that you have some special dietary needs.) To be safe, bring a veggie platter with low-fat dip! That way you get what you need and you do not feel left out. Do not want to drink alcohol? Bring along a few bottles of seltzer. I do this often. It feels good to take care of myself and nobody minds. Do not leave your health to chance. Remember the adage: if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

7. Do not eat diet food: How do diet food companies keep us shelling out dough for more diet food? They put chemicals and addictive ingredients in them that make us hooked! I am talking about ingredients like MSG, and many forms of addictive sugars like corn syrup and sucrose. Even NutraSweet has been proven to be a neurostimulant linked to stimulating appetite. Also, studies have shown that when people eat a diet food they feel like they can get away with eating more and end up overeating!

8. Avoid Sugar: The average American now consumes approximately 115 lbs. of sugar per year. Sugar is extremely addictive and it offers very few health benefits. There is no such thing as having only a little (have you noticed?)! If you like things sweet, like I do, try a truly healthy substitute: Stevia. Stevia Extract comes from the Stevia Rebaudiana plant and has been used traditionally for hundreds of years. It is sugar free and calorie free, and has no bitter aftertaste. It even comes in packets, just like Equal or Splenda (both of which have unhealthy side effects.) You can get Stevia at any health food store. I buy it in liquid form with a dropper. Just a few drops in my herbal tea or yogurt and I am happy!

9. Go Raw: I could write pages on the benefits of eating raw foods (fresh green beans instead of cooked or canned; raw, uncooked almonds instead of Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds). Besides the obvious nutritional benefits, another good reason to go is that your body has to work harder to process raw foods, thus burning more calories. In addition, raw foods have far more nutrients than cooked foods. Raw foods often take longer to eat so your body has time to feel sated: try a spinach salad instead of creamed spinach with your meal.

10. Do not go too long without eating: This is self-care 101! You listen to your children when they are hungry, why not yourself? The fact is, when you wait too long to eat your next meal, you are causing your adrenal glands to panic, believing your body is in starvation mode. Then when you do eat, they do not get the message when you have had enough. They are still attempting to save your life by causing you to believe you need to eat more. Take care of yourself! The biggest irony ever is that compulsive eaters do not know how to feed themselves

Today is the day. You are all set and spiffy to go over her parent's house for dinner. This is a major occasion for her and you want to do everything within your power to make sure all goes well. Even though this is not your first time meeting them, you are still kind of nervous about the whole affair.

No you are not nervous about your emotions toward her. You like her a lot and think that maybe you two have a future together. "That's a subversive organization. Always has been." You ask what organization and quickly regret it.

"The Nobel Prize Committee." Mother and daughter gently chide him to give it a rest but he is just getting warmed up. Before, during and after dinner he proceeds to tell you why he dislikes Al Gore, Hillary and Bill, Western Europe and anything else politically that crosses his radar screen. After the date you don't like Al Gore much either. Not due to politics but because he and Tipper were not here to run interference for you.

Politics has always been a touchy subject but it seems like in this day and age it has reached a fever pitch. While the best strategy is to avoid any discussion, especially on a date, sometimes circumstances will not allow it. So what do you do?

1. Grin and Bear It

Since politics doesn't mean anything to you and her dad is passionate about it, you can always just let it pass. Your date is on the same wavelength as you when it comes to politics; she could not care less. But she loves her father and understands it is in his nature to get wound up about this stuff. Remember also that you are not moving in with them. You will only see her parents occasionally so if possible don't sweat it

2. Steering

There is an art to moving from one conversation to another without being too abrupt or blatantly obvious. This requires listening (I know but do it anyway) and timing. For instance if he uses a certain word or phrase, that maybe the perfect segue to change the subject and start talking about sports, movies the weather or anything else besides politics. Hopefully your date will pick up on what you are trying to do and lend her support.

Understand, it is their house and he is going to have his say but moving the discussion smoothly in another direction may get him to lighten up a bit.

3. Gore! Gore! Rah! Rah! Rah!

Okay this one comes under the heading of the nuclear option. You learn everything you can politically and you charge into a head on confrontation. Now as you have probably guessed this has a lot of downside to it including angry words, hurt feelings and possibly the end of your relationship with her.

However sometimes fighting the good fight is what the other person wanted all along. Her father likes a spirited debate and after it's over he may disagree with you on every issue but he respects the fact that you stood your ground. This elevates you in his eyes. The key to all of this is to get feedback from your date. If she says its okay then you may want to go for it but even then gauge the situation carefully and go slow. Her father might like a good argument but nobody wants to be disrespected in their own house.

If you can avoid hot button issues like politics all together than do so. You like the woman you are dating and you want to like her parents too. However if push comes to shove then consider the three options mentioned above and be particularly cautious regarding the last one. Turn Your Articles Into Cash

1. Start with a word processing program, such as MS Word.

One of the simplest effects you can use to alter a photo in Photoshop is colorization. This effect can be found under the Image tab, in the Adjustments menu, with the Hue and Saturation sliders. By clicking the small box at the bottom of the dialog, you can use to Hue slider to create a unified color over the whole image. This can be great for creating monotone backgrounds behind a central figure. It can also help with trying to match one image's color scheme to another.

To select an image from a white background and save the shadows underneath it (important for figures in motion, especially those who are jumping), use the luminosity of the image. In order to do this, use the magic lasso and QuickMask tools to roughly select the desired areas.


Next, use the Float command to create a new layer of your selection, leaving the old copy in place below it. You can then save this selection to the Channels palette. Then, turn off the floated copy and create a new layer. (Utilizing Layers in Photoshop is vital, so be sure to really take advantage of this feature). By pressing "Ctrl+Alt+tilde (~)", we can select the luminosity of the image, essentially its brightness. However, we wanted to select the shadows, the opposite of brightness.

To do this, use the Invert command under the Selection menu. Make the new layer the target of this by clicking it. Fill the blank layer with black, with the reverse luminosity selected. This will look ghostly, and the base layer will suddenly go very dark, but don't be confused by this. You can now turn your floated copy back on, and put whatever background you choose behind your figure on a lower layer. The figure and its shadows will appear above the new background.

Blurs are another Photoshop feature that has limitless potential. You can blur edges, create fog scenes, or simulate motion. To create a motion blur effect, select your figure and copy it onto a new layer. Now, on a layer below it, with the selection still in effect, fill your selection with black, or any other color. You can apply the Motion Blur filter from the Filters menu to this selection and create lines of movement without disturbing the figure on the layer above. Play with the distance and angle of the motion blur to see what kind of look you can create in your image. You can combine this filter with other effects for different kinds of motion lines.

You can create soft edges on rectangular or boxy images using blurs as well. In your vertical 'Tools' window in Photoshop, choose the top left tool called 'Rectangular Marquee Tool'. Then click and drag your mouse on your image to make a rectangle that is 5 to 10 pixels smaller than your actual image. Make sure that it is equidistant on all four sides. Then go to your menu bar and choose Select and then Inverse. This chooses (or selects) everything outside the rectangle you just made. Finally, go to your menu bar and choose Filter, Blur, Gaussian Blur and type 1-15 pixels in the dialog box.

To add a shadow to a picture which does not already have one, simply apply a Layer Style to the desired layer of the image. This effect can be found under the Photoshop Layers menu in all recent versions of the program. Simply apply the drop shadow Layer Style to the image, and a small shadow in the chosen color will appear beneath your selection. You can change the size, transparency and color of the drop shadow in the Layer Style tab. You can also change the shadow's effect by using the choices in the Blend Mode drop down box.

Also, check out the various layer styles to choose from. Go to Layer in the menu bar, then choose Layer Style.

Two photos can be easily merged in Photoshop. Drag the smaller image into the larger by clicking and holding it. You can create space in one image using the Resize Canvas function under the Image menu if there is not enough room. The dragged image should appear as its own layer on top of the original image.

Next, turn on the Layer Mask function and make sure that the double lines appear around the icon for the mask to show that it is selected. Then, create a radial gradient (with your colors set to a white foreground and black background) to mask part of the new image, revealing the portions you wish to show. With the lasso tool and brush, you can adjust your mask to reveal and conceal the desired portions of the image. This effect is great for integrating images with two people, making them appear to interact.

Another good effect for creating a dramatic image is turning the image into text. To do this, move your selected image to a new layer. Then, create the text that you would like to mask into the image on a text layer. Heavy and bold type styles are best for this, as they provide the greatest amount of image area. This will make the text easier to see and read. Ctrl-click the type layer to select the area of the type, and then change to the original image layer.

It is then easy to Float or copy and paste the area covered by the type onto a new layer. Once the original photo layer is turned off, the picture-type can be easily seen. This effect is great when combined with drop shadows or other layer effects.

Lighting effects are in great demand for Photoshop images. These can be accessed through the Filters menu. One very popular lighting effect is the Lens Flare, which allows the user to create the look of a ball of light on their image. This effect, and the Spotlight effects can be used to add magical effects, new light sources, or other lighting changes to an image.

Layer transparency can be used to drop ghost images in behind a figure. To do this, simply paste the desired image into a layer below the main layer and set the transparency slider to whatever opacity you choose. This effect can be very useful when combined with the colorization effect listed above. Multiple transparent layers can be used with different images to create the impression of motion leading up to the main figure.

An old photo look can be created by colorizing a photo to a sepia color, then adding effects to imply damage. Careful application of the airbrush Eraser tool can create fading. The Noise filter, applied with monochrome turned on, causes the photo to look grainy and old. Using low opacity transparent layers above the image, with the layer set to Multiply, will darken the darkest areas of the image, creating a murky effect. It's worth it to play around with all the Filter options, especially Liquify, Render and Stylize.

No bowler in history has won India more Test matches than Anil Kumble, and there probably hasn't been a harder trier either. Like the great tall wristspinners Bill O'Reilly and his own idol BS Chandrasekhar, Kumble trades the legspinner's proverbial yo-yo for a spear, as the ball hacks through the air rather than hanging in it and comes off the pitch with a kick rather than a kink. It is a method that has provided him stunning success, particularly on Indian soil, where his deliveries burst like packets of water upon the feeblest hint of a crack, and more than one modern-day batsman has remarked that there is no more difficult challenge in cricket than handling Kumble on a wearing surface.

Kumble's prodigious capacity to bear pain was proved in Antigua in 2002 when he bandaged his fractured jaw to deliver a stirring spell, and that to continuously learn when, in the mid-2000s, after a decade of middling away performances, he influenced memorable wins in Headingley, Adelaide, Multan and Kingston, using an improved googly, bigger sidespin and more variation in flight and on the crease.

In a brilliant though always downplayed career Kumble has claimed virtually every Indian record. In 1999 in Delhi he swallowed all ten wickets in an innings against Pakistan. In December 2001, on home turf in Bangalore, he became the India's first spinner to take 300 Test wickets. A year later, almost to the day, he became the first to do so in one-dayers. In August 2007 at The Oval he went past Glenn McGrath's 563 wickets to move to No.3 on the all-time list, behind only Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan, emphasising his contribution to spin's golden era. And in that same Test he chalked up what, judging by the pure ecstasy of his reaction and the dressing room's, was perhaps his most cherished feat of all - a Test century that had been 17 years and 118 matches in the coming.

Less than a month after his 37th birthday, though, he received the ultimate honour when he was named India's Test captain for the home series against Pakistan.

Acclaimed by Academy coach Rod Marsh as the best teenage batsman he had ever seen, Ricky Ponting began with Tasmania at 17 and Australia at 20, and was given out unluckily for 96 on his Test debut. He was and remains the archetypal modern cricketer: he plays all the shots with a full flourish of the bat and knows only to attack, and his breathtaking, dead-eye fielding is a force in the game by itself. A gambler and a buccaneer, he is a natural at one-day cricket. He has had his setbacks, against probing seam attacks and high-class finger-spin, which, when out of form, he plays with hard hands. In the 1990s there were off-field indiscretions that led him once to admit publicly to an alcohol problem, but he overcame the issues and became part of the heartbeat of one of Australia's most successful teams. After the retirement of Ian Healy he took over as the man who led the singing of the victory song, passing it on when he assumed the captaincy.

With many lessons learned, Ponting's growing maturity was acknowledged by the ACB when he saw off competition from Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist to succeed Steve Waugh as Australia's one-day leader early in 2002. It was a seamless transition: Ponting led the successful 2003 World Cup campaign from the front, clouting 140 not out in the final, and acceded to the Test crown when Waugh finally stepped down early in 2004. A broken thumb suffered in the Champions Trophy in England forced him to watch Gilchrist lead Australia's first series victory in India for 35 years from the dressing room, although he returned for the final Test. Batting-wise his first year as captain was one to forget, but he began his second with 207 against Pakistan, joining Don Bradman and Greg Chappell as the only Australians to reach four double-centuries.

By the time the eagerly-awaited 2005 Ashes series got underway the cracks in an almost invincible Australian side were beginning to appear. A humiliating one-day loss to Bangladesh caused the first ripple of dissent against his leadership style, and it grew as the contest progressed. A heroic 156 helped save the Old Trafford Test, but on September 12, 2005, Ponting became the first Australian captain since Allan Border in 1986-87 to taste defeat in an Ashes series. The result hurt and the pain lingered throughout the next summer, but he regrouped and reglued to start an amazing streak of 16 wins in 17 Tests, culminating in the 5-0 demolition of England to regain the urn in the most emphatic way. Ponting was Man of the Series as Australia became the first team in 86 years to achieve an Ashes cleansweep and his 576 runs at 82.28 confirmed him as the game's modern master. The summer was tarnished slightly when England handed Australia their first tri-series finals loss for 14 years and he missed the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy defeat with a back injury. Each lowlight was quickly forgotten as he ensured a third consecutive World Cup win and his second as an undefeated captain.

Waugh believes his successor will hold the game's run-scoring record when he retires. The world's leading strokeplayer, he finished 2005 with 1544 runs and posted twin hundreds three times in five months, joining Sunil Gavaskar as the only other man to achieve the feat, and the double effort in his 100th Test at the SCG was magnificent. He followed up with another 1333 runs in 2006 and owns more centuries than anyone but Sachin, Brian and Sunny. Frighteningly, he is far from finished.

Now lets start with the computer.We all know that the performance of your game is directly affected by the quality of your pc.By quality I mean amount of RAM,CPU,Hard Drive size,video card and drivers.The higher your PC specs are, the better the game can look and play.The major disadvantage here is that computers and gaming applications can be prone to viruses,corrupted or missing files and general sluggishness due to cluttered hard drives.The popular console systems like playstation,xbox and nintendo take advantage here in that they have hardly any performance issues apart from the rare freeze (In my experience).

4. Modifications

The great thing about playing games on your computer is that you can make modifications to your game via downloading of patches,add ons or general updates which can possbibly fix and enhance the performance of your game.With console systems however, once again you are stuck with what you have.This is probably no such a great factor because if you buy a particular game,any updated available for computer will not change the game in such a big way.

5. Availability of Games

Lets face it, all of the games that are available on PC are not all available on the other console systems.This again is another great advantage of computer systems.

So there are my five comparisions with the advantages and disadvantages between the two types of gaming platforms.People will agree and some will disagree about those factors and others not ,but at the end of the day you just have to choose the platform which appeals to you the most.Personally I like PC's because of the sharp graphics and wide availability of games,but like I said It's up to you.

Dual or limited Agency

Dual agency occurs when the same brokerage represents both the seller and the
buyer under written agreements. Individual state laws vary and interpret dual
agency rather differently.



If state law allows for the same agent to represents both the buyer and the
seller in a single transaction, the brokerage/agent is typically considered to
be a Dual Agent. Special laws/rules often apply to dual agents, especially in
negotiating price.

In some states (notably Maryland[1]), Dual Agency can be practiced in situations
where the same brokerage (but not agent) represent both the buyer and the
seller. If one agent from the brokerage has a home listed and another agent from
that brokerage has a buyer-brokerage agreement with a buyer who wishes to buy
the listed property, Dual Agency occurs by allowing each agent to be designated
as “intra-company” agent. Only the principal broker himself/herself is the Dual
Agent.

Some states do allow a broker and one agent to represent both sides of the
transaction as dual agents. In those situations, conflict of interest is more
likely to occur.

brokers (and the principal broker's agents) are their agents as defined in the
law. However, although a business broker commonly fills out the offer to
purchase form, agents are typically not given power of attorney to sign the
offer to purchase or the closing documents; the principals sign these documents.
The respective business brokers may include their brokerages on the contract as
the agents for each principal.



The use of a business broker is not a requirement for the sale or conveyance of
a business or for obtaining a Small business or SBA loan from a lender. However,
once a broker is used, A special escrow attorney[2] sometimes called a
settlement attorney (or party handling closing) will ensure that all parties
involved be paid. Lenders typically have other requirements, though, for a loan.



The market served by business brokers generally involves the sale of businesses
with transaction values less than $10 MM. Larger privately held companies are
classified in the Middle Market and will employ firms that specialize in Mergers

closing. In many states, the closing is the meeting between the buyer and seller
where the business ownership is transferred and the businesses name is conveyed.


Business brokers attract prospective buyers in a variety of ways, including
listing limited details of available businesses on their websites and
advertising in business newspapers and magazines. Brokers also directly approach
prospective buyers and sellers to gauge interest.





The "listing" contract

Although there can be other ways of doing business, a business brokerage usually
earns its commission after the business broker and a seller enter into a listing
contract and fulfill agreed-upon terms specified within that contract. The
seller's business is then listed for sale, often on a Business specific Multiple
Listing Service (MLS) in addition to any other ways of advertising or promoting
the sale of the property.



In most of North America, a listing agreement or contract between broker and

flat fee and percentage, particularly in the case of lower-priced businesses,
businesses in the multi-million dollar price, or other unusual business assets.

Out of the commission received from the seller, the broker will typically pay
any expenses incurred to do the work of trying to sell the listed businesses,

All compensation to a broker paid by a third party must be disclosed to all
parties.





Licensing of business brokers

In the US, licensing of business brokers varies by state, with some states
requiring licenses, some not; and some requiring licenses if the broker is

basis. State rules also vary about recognizing licensees across state lines,
especially for interstate types of businesses like national franchises. Some
states, like California, require either a broker license or law license to even

The Institute of Medicine (IOM), established in 1972 at Tribhuvan
University, was entrusted with the responsibility of training health care
workers at all levels for the health care manpower needs of Nepal. Within the
first decade of its establishment, the IOM developed a total of 12 campuses
scattered over the country -- 3 campuses in Kathmandu and 9 campuses outside the
Kathmandu Valley.

Initially, the emphasis of IOM was on the training of middle-level health
workers. Programmes serving this purpose include ANM, CMA, Proficiency
Certificate Course in General Medicine, Pharmacy, Radiology, Physiotherapy,
Nursing, Health Laboratory and Traditional Medicine.

With the passage of time, the institutional goals of IOM have continued to
change. The mission of the IOM eventually expanded into training tertiary level
health professionals. By 1977 it had at the graduate level a 2-year Bachelor of
Nursing Programmes in Community Nursing, Paediatric Nursing and Adult
Nursing.

In 1978, a community-oriented integrated MBBS programme was started with
intake of 22 students. Subsequently the class size was increased to 40, and
plans are underway to increase the number.

Tribhuvan
University Hospital, a 300-bed teaching hospital, was completed in 1984 with
support from JICA, and another 100 beds were added in 1993. At 426 beds,
Tribhuvan University Hospital is currently the largest hospital in country,
providing new tertiary level health service to the Nepalese people. This
hospital is the site of teaching and research activities of IOM.

At post-graduate level, a three-year Postgraduate Generalist (Family Physician)
Training and one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Anaesthesiology were started in 1982 and 1984,
respectively, with support from the University of Calgary, Canada. Today the
IOM has a total of 29 different programmes, from proficiency certificate level
to the highest postgraduate degree in medicine, public health, paramedical,
nursing and traditional Ayurved
medicine through Tribhuvan University Hospital and 9 campuses scattered all over
the country.

To maintain the quality of its academic programmes, the IOM has established
linkage programmes with various well-recognised institutions and universities
all over the world.

Alligator Shoes

Why is my computer running slow?

Computer slowness can be caused by a variety of issues, which can be categorized in 2 categories: hardware or software.Computer hardware are the physical parts of the computer system, for example motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc. Computer software are all the programs and applications that are installed on your PC. Software includes the operating system like Microsoft Windows XP or Vista and all of the applications such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc. Viruses, spyware and malware are software as well.

Things to check:
* Startup programs
* Virus and spyware scan
* Hard Drive out of space
* Fragmented hard drive
* Bad sector or corrupted files
* Overheating due to dust

Most common reason for computer slowness is unnecessary applications running in the background. When new programs & applications are installed many times they will be configured to start automatically when your computer starts. These applications are not always needed, and will take up a portion of your computer's memory (RAM) which in turn will slow your computer down. To check what applications start automatically, clicks on the start button, then click on run, then type 'msconfig' and click on OK. Once the Systems Configuration Utility is open, click on the Startup tab. On the startup tab you can select the programs that you want to start. Unselecting any of the programs in the startup tab will not remove them from your computer; it will merely keep them from starting automatically every time you turn your PC on. I recommend unselecting all the applications that you don't need. If you see software that you don't recognize it could be indication of virus of spyware.

If your computer is running slow and you're getting a lot of pop-up windows, even when you're not using the computer, your computer is most likely infected with a virus and/or spyware. Everybody should have antivirus software installed, updated and running at all times. There are many antivirus software packages, the best one on my opinion is Nod32 from ESET. Regardless of antivirus software that you use, you should always keep it updated, and regularly scan your system for viruses. Most antivirus software don't check for spyware, so if your computer is infected by spyware, you should download a specialized spyware removal software. There are 2 programs that I use myself all the time, Spybot and Adaware they are absolutely free to use. Once you download and install these programs, make sure to run the updates and scan your entire computer.

Make sure your hard drive is not out of space. If it is, it�s a good idea to get an upgrade, or delete some programs and files. Delete all of the temp files, temporary internet files and cookies, you could do it manually or use another free program called �ccleaner�.

When files are stored on your computer�s hard drive they are not always stored in the most efficient way and can become fragmented. Fragmented files take a lot longer for your system to open or save. To start the defragmentation utility click on Start then programs -> accessories -> system tools -> disc defragmenter. Defragment all of the drives listed. The defragmentation process can take anywhere from about 5 minutes to a couple of hours, and sometimes needs to be repeated. I recommend defragmenting the computer hard drive about once a month.
Another cause of computer slowness could be a corrupted system file or a bad sector on the hard drive. Bad sectors can corrupt systems files which can slow down your PC or even keep it from running. To check and correct bad sectors run the scan disk (chkdsk) utility.

Make sure the computer is not overheating or running very warm. Most computer allow air to flow through the computer, this is great for cooling but also causes a lot of dust to accumulate inside of computer case. Dust will cause poor air circulation and might overheat your PC. Open up the case of the PC and blow all dust out using compressed air.

Niche research can be a tough task.

One more way is to follow your passion or area of expertise - as long as enough others are interested in what you do.

After doing your niche research, the next step is to look for the top keywords in your chosen niche. Again, there are a wealth of resources, tools and services that will let you do this quickly and effectively.

Step #2 - Setting Up Your Framework

I like using an integrated framework that has a content management system, an interactive section and a convenient 'relationship building' vehicle - all working together seamlessly.

And surprisingly enough, setting this up is not very difficult!

First, set up a blog to be your content management system.

Why a blog?

1. It is easy to set up, even if you are not tech-savvy
2. It is naturally search engine optimized, with a structured linking pattern which ensures each section of your blog is connected so a spider can explore every nook and cranny.
3. It allows simple, effective keyword optimization
4. It does not require HTML coding or fancy programming to get going
5. It naturally encourages updating - on a regular schedule
6. Search engines love them - and so do other bloggers - giving you near instant traffic
7. They come with RSS feeds which allow another promotional vehicle and distribution channel for your content

Convinced? Good.

Next, integrate your blog with your forum/bulletin board.

Essentially, the link at the top of the blog points to your forum. Also place another link to the forum below every blog post, with an invitation to discuss the article/post. You can set this into the template of your blog, if you know how. Otherwise, simply copy and paste the link into every blog post that you make.

Third, you set up an autoresponder account which you will integrate with the forum and blog.

Aweber will automatically pull content from your blog and mail it out to your email list on a schedule you decide. You can choose to include 1, 2 or more posts, have them inserted into a template that you can customize, and have it mailed automatically or only when you approve it.

What you get, in essence, is an automated email newsletter created from the content you post on your blog!

Then, to encourage your site visitors, blog readers and forum members to join your autoresponder list and receive notifications, you place your opt-in form on the blog and forum - offering suitable inducements to encourage as many as you want to opt-in.

Step #3 - Creating Your Content

There are many different ways to get content. You can create it yourself. You can hire someone to do it for you. You can license someone else's content. Or you can buy packs of pre-created content (with resale rights, or private label rights) and customize them.

Which route you go depends upon your available resources (time, skill, money) and how you prefer to run your business.

Try and focus on creating 'chunks' of content that is optimized for each of your keywords. For instance, create 5 to 7 articles around the theme of your top keyword. Then another group of articles on your next keyword. Then, put them into their own 'minisite' - and link to them from your blog, forum and ezine!

This way, you create multiple 'keyword rich zones' - each of which is tied in to your main content resource, giving you the best of both worlds... huge content resource on a specific theme, plus tiny segments laser focused tightly on specific keywords.

Step #4 - Optimizing Your Content & Blog

The key to profiting from online content is to make sure the resource you are building ranks high on search engines for your chosen keywords, offers valuable content for human visitors interested in your niche, and is regularly updated with fresh, useful content.

Master these 3 and you can't keep the traffic away if you wanted to!

Here are a few tips to optimize a blog:

- Create categories and name them with your keywords (Wordpress and Movable Type let you do this)

More than 1.2 million students will not graduate from high school this year (2007) according to a recent report by Editorial Projects in Education. Editorial Projects in Education is a creditable non-profit organization that conducts extensive research to help raise the level of awareness about important issues in American education.

We have an educational crisis in the United States. Why aren't millions of parents outraged and taking a stand? Why aren't our leaders, including the President and Congress, making this issue a major priority?

This report by Editorial Projects in Education also provides startling statistics. Many major cities have schools in which less than half of the students graduate. One major city had schools in which almost 75% of the students failed to graduate. This is deplorable and tragic.

Many of our schools are failing to adequately educate our kids at a time when a good education has never been more important. What will the job prospects and quality of life be for students who do not even complete high school? How will employers in the U.S. remain competitive in the global marketplace if this trend continues? These are questions that need to be addressed.

Problems provide opportunities for solutions

In every crisis there are opportunities to make a positive difference. Every problem has a solution. What is a possible solution to the educational crisis? There are many schools and teachers doing a great job educating our students. We need to examine the schools, courses, and teachers that are producing successful results and create models of what is working.

For example, eighty percent of the economically disadvantaged students who graduate from KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) charter schools go to college. These kids from the poorest neighborhoods, who on the average are two grades behind when they start at KIPP, are outscoring students from excellent public schools on national standardized tests.

Many community colleges offer courses in study skills and effective learning strategies. These courses teach students how to learn, identify their best learning styles and skills, set goals and manage their time. These courses are often available to high school students as part of early college start programs.

I came out of retirement a year ago to teach success and study skill strategy courses part-time for a community college. One of the courses I teach is for at-risk students who enter college with two or more deficiencies. Students who take this course graduate at significantly higher rates than those who are not enrolled.

Why are the Kipp schools and many college success strategy courses working? The answer is motivated students who work hard, dedicated teachers and courses which help students identify skills, talents, goals and how they learn best. Students are motivated to learn when they are focused on realistic goals and see the relevance of their education to these goals.

An education should bring out the best in our students, develop their potential and natural gifts and help them to become positive contributors to society. We need to create educational systems which model schools, courses and teachers which have proven track records of helping students to succeed. This is one solution to the education crisis and a way to provide our young people with the education they deserve.

Preparing For Professional Examinations-Tips

The first step in preparing for any professional examination is to understand why the professional body is asking for external examinations to be taken. It is because they believe that they must have primary evidence that you know your subject at the level expected of a professional in that field. Examinations are considered by most of the professional bodies to be the only reliable format in assessing the competence of the diverse group of students wishing to be awarded professional status. Professionals in most sectors now practice in a global environment, and most professional qualifications are available internationally. In order to maintain a high standard of competence, and to guarantee at least a certain standard of professionalism, regardless of where the professional studied or practices, the most effective format is still the external examination.

Each professional body will have a set format. Some now also ask the student to complete regular assignments, or to complete an individual research project or dissertation, so covering much of the required background depth and breadth of knowledge. This in turn allows the setting of examination questions which focus on key areas which they believe can be best tested under examination conditions. The format applied by each professional body will be openly published in their study and examination guidelines, will be known to the course providers and the tutors, and will be visible in recent past papers. The student must ensure that they are familiar with this format. It is an essential factor in achieving success

This element of the preparation process is one that is often overlooked by mature students. Many international students will be studying for qualifications of professional bodies based in other countries, but will need to sit the examinations in their home country. This will often mean having to make arrangements to take the examination at embassies or other representative offices, usually in the capital city of the student’s country, where the professional body has made arrangements for the office to act as an examination centre. This is not something that can be left to the last minute, as there will be a deadline for acceptance, and secondly, the student will suffer additional negative stress during the critical revision period, if these arrangements are not made in good time.

For most mature students, especially those studying by distance learning, it will be necessary to arrange for absence from their workplace. This, at a minimum, will mean time away from work in order to travel, take the examination, and return, whilst for some a few days away to concentrate on the final stage of revision may be possible. If planned and agreed well in advance, the student can then relax about these issues and concentrate on preparing for and taking the examination.

Studying the course materials in a planned and thorough manner is essential. The core materials and supplementary research and reading should be studied as diligently as possible. Advice on this is contained in a sister article, but will be available from your course provider, tutors, and the professional body itself. It is mentioned here because it is often forgotten that without effective studying of the course materials it is unlikely that the student will be successful in the examinations.

The point of revision is to consolidate the knowledge and understanding gained during the course of study, and to reshape it into material that can be used effectively to answer the questions in the examination. Revision is a stage that needs planning for. Planning properly means that you need a revision plan, a timetable of activities which will result in you being prepared for the examination itself. When to start revision, how long to allocate, will depend on the nature of the examination. For example, if it is a single examination the revision period may be relatively short, perhaps one or two weeks only. However, if, as with many professional examinations, each stage requires two or three examination to be taken over a few days, then perhaps a month of revision would be more appropriate. How much to revise will again depend on the nature of the examination(s). Don’t try to recall or memorise the whole course content. Concentrate on preparing for questions about the main themes, the key topics, the most important areas of knowledge. To help you with this, ask advice from your tutors, look for clues in past papers, revisit the syllabus and look for the main topics there. Your revision plan will also be influenced by personal factors such as family, social, and work commitments. You will need to balance the demands of preparation and the importance of the success in the examinations, against these competing demands. If you are studying for professional examinations, you will need to give these priority during the revision period, and reap the benefits at a later stage in your career.

Overall, examiners, representing the professional body in writing the questions, are looking for evidence that you are sufficiently knowledgeable and competent to be awarded professional status. To demonstrate this, though, you will need to follow one simple rule. That is: answer the question. What the examiners require you to do is to answer the question that they have asked. It has been designed to give you the opportunity to provide the evidence that you are worthy of that status. If your answer(s) are not focused, do not answer the question, or complete the task, or give a surfeit of information which is irrelevant to the question, you will fail.

With the requirements of the Examiners in mind, you should practice identifying what the question is actually asking you to do or to discuss. To do this use past papers, make up your own questions, use the mini-questions and assignments in the coursework. Analyse questions and make notes on how you would answer them, and of course, practice answering them fully.

During the last few days before the examination itself, finalise your revision, but leave room for other, equally essential activities. These include confirming practical factors such as travel arrangements, access to the examination room, timings, materials that you need to take in with you. Also, give careful consideration to your general well-being, and try to eat and drink healthily, find time for relaxation, take exercises, and obtain sufficient sleep. Being in good physical condition will add to your chances of success.

Use the reading time wisely. Make a broad appraisal of the questions, and if there is choice, decide which questions you can answer best. Usually it is a good idea to select the question that you will answer first. This can often be obvious because it is the main question or one of those that carry the most marks. Don’t necessarily start writing immediately permission is given, as it can be much better to continue thinking and planning your tactics. List or mark the questions to show the order in which you intend to take them.

Before you answer any individual question, you should spend a few minutes, at least, on preparing your answer. This is to give structure to it, and to ensure that you will cover the main points. For each question, read it carefully and identify what the question is actually asking you to write about (remember the advice on what the examiners are expecting). List the key points that you intend to write about. The questions will always be based on material that you have studied on the course, so once you are certain that you understand what the question is asking of you, you can use your knowledge of the course materials to add points that you need to cover. Don’t fall into the trap of writing about everything you can think of related to the topic. Only give information relevant to answer the specific question being asked. In other words, stick to the point. Finally, don’t forget that in discussion answers you should show a clear structure: an introduction, the main discussion and key points, and a conclusion. If it is a calculation answer such as in accountancy examinations, present your answer in the required format. As with discussion questions, incomplete answers can still gain valuable marks, so don’t despair if your calculations are not perfect.

You will be asked to answer a certain number of questions in a fixed amount of time. After you have completed your reading of the paper and decided which question you will answer, allocate time per question according to the marks allocated to each question. As an example, if one question is worth 40% of the marks, then allocate 40% of the time to that question. The examiners will be expecting 40% of your efforts to be given to this question. Do this even if at that stage you are not sure which questions of smaller value you will answer last. Try not to overrun your allocated time for the larger value questions. If you spend 60% of your time on answering a 40% value question, that will only leave 40% of time to answer questions with 60% value. A recipe for disaster. If, as you near the end of the examination period, you are certain that you will not be able to answer the final question in full, change to a bullet point format, making clear notes on the key points that you would have discussed in more depth. Often this will gain you a few marks, as most examiners understand that perfect timing is not likely under examination conditions.

It is likely that you will not be informed of the result of the examination for many weeks, but you should review your performance within a few days of taking the examination. Reflect on how well you had prepared, how accurate had been your forecast of what questions would arise, how effectively you used the reading time, how well you managed your time, how well you answered each question. 3. Network Costs:What are the costs associated with the network?

Sometimes costs are poorly estimated because proper analysis is never done to outline the requirements of the system. Proper systems analysis and software engineering early on in the development cycle is required to give a "blueprint" of the proposed system so that costs can be more accurately estimated.

Proprietary Hardware

Be careful about getting locked into proprietary hardware. If the hardware is proprietary, remember that the vendor will have a monopoly for supplying upgrades, parts, etc., so make sure you find out these costs before you decide to buy. There will be a temptation for the vendor to overcharge for things like upgrades or maintenance since you would be forced to buy from them only. In addition, some features you may want in the future may be unavailable if the vendor decides not to offer them. Keep in mind that in some cases, the proprietary hardware may consist of only custom cards that run in a normal P.C. configuration.

On the up side, companies like IBM can maintain stringent quality control standards over all aspects of their hardware, and if there is a problem, they cannot blame someone else to try to avoid taking responsibility.

Software Acquisition

There are a number of ways to acquire the software your organization needs. Many large computer companies like IBM, SAP and Siebel offer off-the-shelf products, frameworks, consulting services and custom software. Another option is to hire programming staff to write the software in house.

When you purchase software, some software vendors may offer to supply the source code. This is highly variable and is dependent on the nature and scope of the software. If the vendor offers to supply the source code, make sure that the application was developed using industry standard computer languages, otherwise it may be useless. Some vendors may offer to give you the source code, but will then withhold some key code segments or libraries to make compilation impossible. Again, this renders the source code useless and leaves you at the mercy of the vendor. If you decide to create the software in house, you will then own it outright. Many companies do exactly that, especially for web-based software, so that they can maintain a high level of control over their computer systems.

As a general rule of thumb, go for the simplest approach that will meet your needs. Don't get wowed by bells and whistles if they are unnecessary. If you can use an off the shelf product like MS Excel, do it.

With the importance of the Internet, many companies choose to hire a web developer (or a web development company) to create a website with the functionality they need. Internet and Intranet based information systems are becoming extremely popular because they are relatively easy to program and customize, and the same software can be used by both internal users (employees) and external users (clients or offsite employees). Again, make sure the developer uses industry standard languages and components so that you can fix or modify the software when you need to, and it is almost guaranteed that you will need to. A very important point that I can't stress enough is that if you have a falling out with your web developer or with the company that you hired to do your software development, you will be in an infinitely better position if you own and control your information systems in a format that can be freely modified, extended, etc., so that you can hire whoever you want to take over the development and maintenance of your systems.

Conflict of Interest.

The last area we would like to address is conflict of interest. Advice that appears to be objective and unbiased can actually be the opposite. This happens when the advice giver has a financial interest related to the advice being given. Here are a few example scenarios that we have seen:

- A company your organization is thinking of using to outsource your information technology management offers to supply, free of charge, a consultant to work with you to do a feasibility study.

- A salesperson suggests the best way to solve a computer related problem. The solution involves the purchase of products from the salesperson's company.

- A consultant recommends a particular software company to do custom programming for a project. The consultant has a financial stake in the software company.

While these points may seem obvious, it is amazing how often I have seen these conflicts of interest happen with often disastrous results. Find someone you can trust to give you honest and impartial advice.

Uma Thurman’s Stalker Rejects Plea Deal

A man accused of stalking actress Uma Thurman has rejected a plea deal to check into a mental health facility after protesting his innocence over charges of coercion.

Jack Jordan pleaded not guilty to the charges last month and presently has been set free on 10,000 dollars bail, reports E!Online.

The 35-year-old man, refused to plead guilty to attempted coercion, a felony the court would have reduced to a misdemeanour once he completed at least a year of a mental health program.

Defense lawyer George Vomvolakis said Jordan would consider pleading guilty to a misdemeanour with commitment to a psychiatric program.

Jack Jordan is facing charges of harassment and felony coercion, which stem from an incident in which he allegedly told Thurman he would kill himself if he saw her with another man.

Are Women Initiating Divorce?

In cultures where divorce was long considered taboo (Japan, India, China etc.) the marital laws and the gender bias were stacked heavily against the female of the species. However with the onset of economic progress, the critical factors like compulsory education and growing work opportunities have enabled women to almost attain equality with men in all walks of life and are definitely more organized (far greater extent than before). The power to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ when women mean it, is also legally enforceable in the laws of the respective country. Therefore it is only natural that when the woman is empowered, she has a choice to enter or end a marriage.

It is common knowledge that cultures and countries with a long history definitely enjoyed a very low percentage of cases where women were the initiators of divorce because it was the men who were doing the divorcing and the women were totally at the mercy of the male partner. Society frowned upon the very thought of a woman contemplating divorce and society subjected a divorce seeking wife to inhumane treatment. In some cultures, women did not have the legal right to divorce (Ex: the Shia community in India and the Middle East) because the religious texts were interpreted as forbidding women from divorcing their husbands.

Recreation activities should make our mind free from tension and worries. When one is playing games in computer every moment s/he thinks about playing and winning games in the computer but they cannot show their creative side. Free time after school should be devoted to physical games so that physical as well as mental growth takes place together. When we play such games winning games adds to our confidence and even losing teaches us the spirit of sportsmanship.
Children should always be shown the right path by the elders at school or at home. In the case of cyber cafes the owners should be able to think above their profit level. They should not allow children below the age of twelve to play games in the computer. Even parents should do the same. Some children are found watching vulgar websites,

Spice Girls Comeback Gets Rave Reviews

Britain's most successful girl group, which folded in 2000, kicked off their comeback world tour on Sunday night in Vancouver, at the General Motors Place indoor arena.

And newspapers back home lapped up their return at the first opportunity, printing front-page pictures of the five singers in action on the west coast of Canada.

Victoria Beckham ("Posh Spice"), Melanie Brown ("Scary Spice"), Emma Bunton ("Baby Spice"), Melanie Chisholm ("Sporty Spice") and Geri Halliwell ("Ginger Spice") are on a concert tour set to hit six continents.

The Daily Mirror and the Daily Telegraph both featured a giant picture of Halliwell looking majestic in a Union Flag dress.

She is squeezing far fewer curves into her trademark outfit than the first time round when it symbolised the "Cool Britannia" mood of the late 1990s.

"The crowd was awed by the power of the performance and the whittled frames of the now thirty-something members," said The Daily Telegraph.

"They're back... and bigger than ever", said the front page of The Sun, next to a picture of Beckham in a push-up top. "(And so are the Spice Girls)", it added.

The Times gave the show four out of five marks, saying it was a fairytale start to their comeback.

"If this show -- colourful, energetic and wildly ambitious -- was intended to cash in on past triumphs, there was certainly no stinting on the time, dedication and money spent on it," their review said.

"The Spice Girls have never been the world's greatest singers or dancers, but they remain consummate entertainers.

"They performed with every ounce of strength in their legs and passion in their hearts. Mission accomplished."

Most newspapers touched on how much live singing was done, accusing them of duff notes, auto-tuning and miming.

But the Daily Star quoted a Spice Girls spokesman as saying they sang live over a click track, while a backstage source said it was standard for such highly choreographed tours to have extra vocals on a backing track with the performers singing over the top.

"It's Spice to have you back," said the tabloid.

Newspapers noted that all the girls sung a solo spot except for Beckham, who did a mock catwalk routine instead.

The Sun thought Brown's solo turn singing Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way" was a highlight, while the Daily Mirror accused her of "murdering" the stomping rock tune.

It still gave her an A minus, while Halliwell and Beckham got an A plus, Bunton a B plus and Chisholm got a C minus.

Most tabloids ran the set list in full.

"Ah, the glitz, the glamour, the unashamed girly pop -- it was just like they'd never been away," said the Daily Express.

"The Spices finally silenced their critics... with a glorious, glittering show."

New Hero Honda Hunk- Review, Pictures & Specification | Indian 150cc motorbike

Hero Honda recently launched their not much awaited bike Hero Honda Hunk.

Already talks about it and specially its name, Hero Honda could have used some better name. Well, Hunk is still, if you look into dictionary then it is a very manly word.

This machine has almost similar power and torque to CBZ xtreme, ie. 14.2bhp at 8500 rpm and 12.8 nm at 6500 rpm. Then engine displacement is 149.2 cc . And the engine is set to have tumble flow ( I can't comment over it as do not have enough information about it).




Lets talk about other things of the HUNK, ie. its look and fairing and its styling.

First thing you will note that it has gas charged, adjustable rear shok absorber, it is I think first in Hero Honda Bike. One thing I loved about CBZ from beginning was its saddle position, it just made you sit so sporty that you feel like GOD on road. .. here in Hero Honda Hunk, saddle position is nice so it feels so sporty while sitting on Bike.

Front Disc brake is fine, I wished if they could have increased its size as TVS did in Apache RTR 160, it looks so nice and somohow makes feel bike more powerful (physcologically).

Looking over design, the bike has over all a big look as we had with CBZ xtreme. This time grab rail is single piece ie not like CBZ xtreme which as splitted one looked really cool. One thing I noticed here that they wanted to bike to look shorter and sporty and hence you can see on back that they have kept seat little shorter though ideally should stretch a bit more, anyhow it is looking unique.

What I think that there was something missing in CBZ xtreme and Hero Honda thinks that to compete with Apache RTR and new pulsar, they should work around and hence we have "Hunk".




It has body coloured leg gaurd, I have seen first in Hero Honda bikes and rather in any bike yet. another nice thing about design is its fairing covering the tank, it really makes it feel big, sit over and it is really big. Headlamp is good but again could have better in design. I don't know why Hero Honda people can't create a appealing front look but its satisfactory this time.

As most part of bike is gray so other color create different look than whole gray bike. As you look in above pic, the bike is in red colour but touch of Gray , black makes it appealing.




Looking at the meter console, we have no digital instruments there, looks like Hero Honda wants to make it traditional style manly stuff, only raw power. After all, you can't feel the adrenaline in those digital meter as you feel when the niddle spindle over the meter .. wraoommmm...



Fuel consumption is said to same as CBZ but with little improvement. And bike comes in two version, a kick start costing Rs. 55000 ex showroom Delhi and Rs. 57000 for Electric start ex-showroom Delhi.
Price is all standard.
Anyways, Going to most little more about the bike after riding it for a while.

The 10 fundamental principles of blogging

After reading several blogs and several materials on blogging, monetizing your site, internet marketing etc., I’ve come to the conclusion that almost all bloggers agree on certain basic principles that each successful blogger has consciously or unconsciously followed throughout the years. Among the principles observed are as follows:

1.) Blog on your passions – Write on something that you are passionate about. Something that you have somewhat achieved a level of expertise in, something that puts you on fire, something that makes your eyes wide open when discussed about, something that awes and amazes you and opens your mouth wide open.

2.) Blog for people – Although search engine optimization is something that should be seriously considered by all bloggers, it should not take precedence over people. Blogs should not be all about keywords, tags or any other gimmick out there in order to make sure that we all each get a higher search engine. What is important that people keep coming back to your site because your post actually helps them or is relevant to them. I believe it was legendary marketer John Chow who said “People First before Google.”

3.) Blog frequently - The length of the post is not as important as it’s frequency. Posts may be long or short depending on the topic covered. What is important about the blog is that the blogger frequently updates his blogs.

4.) Just blog – If you are a new blogger, don’t worry about your site statistics or that you still do not have comments on your site. Just blog away ! It takes a while for search engines to index your site. Also if you write good posts and you are blogging for people the traffic will just flow.

5.) Learn more about blogging – Bloggers should not stop learning about how to be more effective in their craft. Learn more about topics on how to be effective on your blogging, about search engine optimization, etc. The moment you stop learning, you stop to blog.

6.) Bloggers are readers – Personally I believe that there is nothing to blog about if you do not read about your passions. You must have an insatiable thirst for learning and a passion to communicate what you have learned to your readers.

7.) Blog with a schedule – This is something that I have not read but something I am personally trying to implement. I believe having a blogging schedule will force you to think of something to blog about. This may not work for others as they just blog whatever comes into their mind. Being a structured person, I work best when I submit myself to a structured way of doing things. Using a blog schedule will also ensure that I have balanced the number of articles on the categories that I wish to blog.

8.) Personalize your blog – When readers read your post they must feel that it is as if you are personally talking to them. Don’t use highfalutin words nor should you be too scholarly that your readers will have to look into a dictionary before they could even understand what you are saying. Talk to them in layman’s term as much as possible, no matter how technical the subject is. Inject some humor if you like.

9.) Aim for excellence in your blog – Edit your posts, review your presentation and layout. Make sure it is user friendly and not an eye sore. The principle of excellence very much well applies when it comes to blogging.

10.) Blog for life – Don’t view blogging as something that you are temporarily doing just because you don’t have anything to do as of now or something which you do in order to achieve a certain amount of money and afterwards you will then stop blogging since you have already achieved your goal. Plan to blog for life. Blogging may bring you monetary “blessings.“ However always consider that such is only secondary. As you go about your day to day experience, having an attitude of blogging for life will make you further appreciate such experiences since you will looking forward to writing it to on your next posts.

Yoga teachers often discuss subjects such as self-realization and transformation in great depth, but where does the average Yoga student start this journey? How can we take control of our lives? How can we design a life plan, which gives us direction, purpose, and meaning every day?

Let's look at where to start first. Designing a list of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly objectives, which are realistic, will give us direction. This method always works, because a list is hard to avoid, and the objectives become embedded in your subconscious mind. Writing your aspirations, goals, and objectives, down is a contract with the "witness" within you.

When a day goes by without daily objectives, it is usually an unproductive day. This is fine, if we are supposed to relax on vacation. All of us need healthy down time, but some of us are on down time every day.

How does this happen? In general, people are just not pro-active. If you practice Yoga for a few years, you start to become pro-active about every aspect of life. Your diet, posture, exercise, breathing, meditation, and prayer time have all changed. The result is a new reality and a healthy perspective of life.

If you are just starting to practice Yoga, you will need to design a list, but I must admit a list of long, and short-term objectives, does make life a lot more productive.

No matter how much drive and ambition you have, the direction you travel in should be designed to make the best use of your time. The time spent planning will actually prevent mistakes and help you to avoid wasting time.

Therefore, you should review your list of objectives daily. Take the time to do some soul searching, when you write your list. Here are some questions to consider.

Can you design smaller and measurable goals? Are your objectives ethical and positive? What are your unique life skills? Can you visualize the outcome of your objectives? How much control do you have to determine the future?

It is important for you to reflect on these questions, because you can carve out your own path in life, with your vision. This is a Yogic exercise in self-realization and transformation.

Whatever you do; your ideas must be your own. You can listen to good advice, but you cannot live your life trying to complete another person's vision of what your life should be.

Lastly, it is wise to have a Spiritual leader, Yoga teacher, Swami, Guru, mentor, consultant, coach, relative, or a trusted friend, as a confidant. This must be someone, with integrity, who inspires you to succeed in life.

He or she will not be difficult to find, because you will easily feel and see the positive energy in this person's speech, behavior, actions, and gestures. All of us need some guidance from someone who sincerely cares about us.

The final of the ACC Under-15 Elite Cup cricket tournament will be held at the Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya (BSAM) grounds on Monday.
The final was scheduled at the Tribhuvan University Stadium, but Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) informed the rescheduling of the venue today. “As per the decision of ACC, the final of ACC U-15 Elite Cup 2007 will be held at the BSAM in Bhaktapur,” said CAN in a release.

Pamela Anderson Plans Retirement

Former “Baywatch” star and pin-up queen Pamela Anderson says she plans to quit her show business career within five years and retire to her native Canada, it has been reported.

Anderson, 40, told USA Today that despite regular movie and television offers she was too “lazy” to continue working and wanted to settle down with her third husband Rick Salomon, whom she wed in Las Vegas last month.

“I get offers to do movies and TV all the time. I say no to everything. Drives my agent crazy,” Anderson told the daily.

“But I’m lazy. I don’t want to work. I want to be with my kids,” the mother of two added.

Anderson is currently appearing on stage in Las Vegas with Dutch magician Hans Klok, although the show is due to end its run on December 8.

Anderson said she expects to work in show business for five more years before eventually quitting.

“Five more years ... and I’ll go back to Canada,” she said. “I’ve got some land. It’ll be time.”

Night shift can cause cancer, say scientists

Working in night shifts may increase the risk of cancer, a team of international scientists said in a report.
In their report, the team of 44 scientists from 10 countries commissioned by the World Health Organisation’s International Agency on Cancer Research is said to have found evidence of a connection between the disease and the people working in night shifts.
That evidence included a higher rate of breast cancer in female nurses who work in night shifts, said the report published on the online edition of health magazine WebMD.
The scientists also reviewed studies in which animals were exposed to light at night, disrupting the animals’ circadian rhythm — the regular changes in mental and physical characteristics that occur in the course of a day. They found sufficient evidence of a connection between circadian rhythm disruption and cancer, the report published in the journal ‘The Lancet’ said.
“Shift work that involves circadian rhythm disruption is probably carcinogenic to humans,” writes Kurt Straif, who works for the International Agency for Research on Cancer in France.
The scientists noted that night shift work might raise the risk of cancer by suppressing production of melatonin, a hormone chemical involved in the circadian rhythm.
They also mentioned in their report that people working as a painter are carcinogenic, and those who work as a firefighter are “possibly carcinogenic” because of the on-the-job chemical exposure.
